Jo Beckett

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons), BSc, CMAVA)

What can we say - but Jo is a nerd! She loves to study and learn about all things living. Before becoming a vet, Jo studied Marine Biology, Parasitology, and Zoology, helping to establish an even greater love of all things animal!

Jo has been a vet for nearly 20 years, and started up Furkids when the influx of corporate vet clinics started to put vet care out of reach for many people.

Jo loves all aspects of veterinary practice, but has a particular love of surgery (orthopaedics, soft tissue, reconstructive and brachycephalics) plus reproduction (from conception to delivery and farewell to the new family.)

When not at conferences, Jo loves to travel, scuba dive, hike and spend time in her garden.

Sarah Gostelow

Veterinarian (DVM BSc)

Sarah decided at a young age that she wanted to become a vet. She has always had a passion for animals and has owned many different furry friends from horses to rats and everything in between. She relocated to Perth, Western Australia from South Africa when she was 9. She studied vet science at Murdoch university and relocated to Qld in 2022. She enjoys all aspects of bei g a veterinarian and has started to develop more of an interest in behaviour, medicine and dentistry.  She has a mini menagerie consisting of a sheep, dogs, cats and guinea pigs. In her spare time she enjoys doing dog sport and spending time with her family; rock climbing, camping and fishing. She looks forward to helping you and your pets with any concerns.

Tony Pentecost

Practice Owner (B. Business Professional Accounting)

To be the only male among a female dominated practice, Tony is brave & down to earth, with a quick wit and he enjoys a chat! He comes from a broad background of business management over the past 20 years, both within the food and sports/physical health industries, before shifting into the veterinary business in 2014.

As a co-owner of the business, Tony is always keen on further developing the practice and enjoys the growth of client-vet-pet relationships that continue to form as the business grows older. He enjoys being forefront of the business, as customer service is a quality he strives to achieve, and has a keen interest in veterinary care - in particular canine reproduction.

In his spare time, Tony is a keen cross-fitter, and loves all sports. Although he's a business man, Tony is a self-confessed failure at Monopoly, often losing the title to his young son, Callum!

Nicole Young

Senior Vet Nurse

There is no doubt in our mind Nicole's love for animals. Nicole has had a passion for all animals since a young age, often bringing home many strays that became important members of her family. So there was no surprise when she decided to go into rescuing those that need a loving, forever home and founding All Breed Canine Rescue.

Nic's passion in veterinary care include a vast array of medical cases & raising puppies, and is incredibly compassionate and dedicated to making the life of all our pets better.

Nic has been a fabulous member of our team for several years, and if not for her compassion and dedication alone, her experience as a veterinary nurse is valuable.

Nic is a Furmum to a very naughty Bulldog called William.

Kirra Kennelly

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Lovely Kirra first came to Furkids as a keen volunteer when she was only 13. Her talents, natural ability and eagerness to learn was quickly recognised, and Kirra was employed as a trainee nurse after only 3 months of experience. Now, 4 years on, Kirra is still loving her job and all the things involved in working in the veterinary industry as a very much loved member of the Furkids team.

Often the quiet achiever but quick to crack a joke, Kirra's quick witt & spark is a refreshing addition to our busy & often stressful environment.

A way to her heart is food, and everything except for raisins and corn, and is always up for the opportunity for food remuneration.

Learra Radke

Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV Veterinary Nurse)

Learra comes to the Furkids family with experience in both large and small animal nursing, and is an incredibly valuable member of our nursing team.

With a keen and intuitive interest in canine reproduction, Learra breeds both French and Australian Bulldogs, and has a soft spot for all the Brachycephalic breeds, and is a favourite with our clients because of her care and compassion when it comes to their continuing of all breeds and species.
Learra often does the fresh matings at Furkids and enjoys the ongoing learning in regards to all reproduction aspects, and is continuing her love for the reproduction industry by gaining more knowledge in DNA & colouring.

Learra reflects our admirable core strengths of excellence and dedication to her work, with her continued supportive attitude & knowledge that is often evident to our clients, especially our breeders.

Outside of work time, Learra is a keen boater, or otherwise snuggling on her couch with the furbabies TV series binging.
